"The main fact about my new album was we wrote and recorded 28 songs in 28 days. While not many details about the forthcoming record are known yet, he has shared several other songs this year including "Never Break Heart," "Jenny" and "Through My Ray Bans." Church has called his new album "unequivocally my favorite music we've done." He said: "Stick That In Your Country Song" will appear on Eric's forthcoming, yet-to-be-titled new album, which follows 2018's Desperate Man. It felt like it was the right song for the right moment in time. And, it just felt like I was meant to cut the song and to sing the song, and that's the reason it's the first single. I've only had that happen, maybe a time or two. We were in the mountains of North Carolina, this is January, this is before COVID, this is before social, racial unrest, riots, protests, and as real as the song was to me then, it became a hundred times more real as time continued to evolve. In a statement, Church says of his new song, "The greatest thing about 'Stick That In Your Country Song' is it really became almost a harbinger of things that were to come. "Stick That In Your Country Song" calls attention to heroes like military veterans and teachers as he sings lyrics like, "Sing about the man coming back from war/ 23 going on 54/ He lost a friend, his sight, his hands/ Baby girl he’ll never see again/ Stick that in your country song/ Take that one to number one/ Get the whole world singing along" and "Gimme one about the teacher who’s trying to change a life or two/ She’ll be rocking out all night with you/ Tomorrow she’ll be back in a red brick school/ Where kids are climbing off the walls and it’s scary walking down the hall/ She’s underpaid, she’s overworked/ Come on man shout one out to her/ Stick that in your country song." A new album from Eric Church is on its way, and the country star is giving fans a taste with its first single: "Stick That In Your Country Song."
